As part of the Luxe Day Tour and following your Milford Sound cruise, our guide checks you in with our Milford Sound Helicopter team. Following departure you will fly over Milford Sound and turn south to fly down over the Milford Track, the West Coast and fiords of Lake Te Anau before landing at Manapouri airport. An alpine landing is included at an appropriate location for you to enjoy the scenery at several thousand feet above ground. A truly mesmerising sight and experience.
Returning to Te Anau removes two-hours of driving at the end of your day and will be a highlight of your time in Fiordland.

It is important to note that the Milford Sound helicopter tour is very dependant on the weather. The decision to fly is made by our Heli tour partner on the day.
If the flight does not take place, you will remain with the main tour group in your vehicle and be refunded the helicopter portion of your day tour ticket immediately.
Fiordland weather is very changeable, and while it may seem sunny and fine in Milford Sound, the mountain ranges create their own systems of weather & wind that pilots must consider.
The flight needs a minimum of four people to fly. We join with other tours to do our best to make the flight travel and most of the time this occurs.
